synthetic method
In industry, benzoic acid is used as raw material, and nitration with sodium nitrate in the presence of sulfuric acid can achieve a yield of up to 60%. If benzoyl is esterified with methanol in the presence of sulfuric acid to methyl benzoate, then nitration with mixed acid, and finally hydrolyzed, this method of production is slightly more complicated, but the yield can approach 70%. It can also be obtained by direct nitration with mixed acid. The yield is around 60%.
purpose
Used in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of bile acids, acetic acid iodobenzoic acid, etc. It is also an intermediate for photosensitive materials, functional pigments, and organic synthesis. Or it is a reagent for determining thorium and alkaloids.
